Green Riding Hood Interactive Story App IMG_0660-1.jpg

Green Riding Hood is an interactive story app with the central themes of friendship, healthy living and yoga. It is a beautifully drawn and animated story about a little girl, her vegan grandma and fellow animals with a cruel and unhappy Wolf among them. Wolf is to impart nuggets of yoga wisdom and recipe ideas of healthy diet. No-one will be eaten in this positive and organic spinoff of the favourite tale.  Sadly I can’t seem to find it for android 😦

Tinkering, prepair spares.jpgatching and mending is making a comeback as a new breed of repair experts help people maintain household items for free rather than throw them out.

Broken clocks, vacuum cleaners, clothes and furniture are just some of the items that can be repaired at one of a string of pop-up “repair cafes” now open around Australia.

Why aren’t men changing their name after marriage?

sounds-claustrophobic
That’s just creepy.

Indeed!  Is he going to help you change everything back in the event of divorce? If ‘carrying on a man’s name’ is ‘so important’, what about fathers with only daughters!?

And why do children take the father’s name when the mum does the nine month sentence as us well a usually copping ongoing financial loss and career disruption?

How not to talk about cancer

Definitely some good tips here.  I have been guilty of some stupid cliched classics, and hope to do better in future.

Homeopathy ineffective for treating any health condition, meta-study finds

“There will be a tail of people who won’t respond to this report, and who will say it’s homeopathy.jpgall a conspiracy of the establishment,” he said. “But we hope there will be a lot of reasonable people out there who will reconsider selling, using or subsidising these substances.”

-Paul Glasziou, a professor at Bond University in Australia who chaired the NHMRC’s Homeopathy Working Committee.

Plants are amazing and can definitely heal (and harm), but maybe not in infinitesimal doses.  The ‘X’ in homeopathy relates to dilution, not concentration. In homeopathy, dilutions of 1:10 are designated by the Roman numeral X (1X = 1:10, 3X = 1:1,000, 6X = 1:1,000,000).

Eventually, a solution will be diluted beyond any likelihood of finding a single molecule of the original substance in a litre of the total dilution product.(wikipedia)

If it sounds to good to be true, sadly, maybe it is.

Let’s green our cities!  Street trees are especially useful in urban cooling due to both transpiration and shading.  They also make you feel better and bring life into the city.
